Day 1: Recognizing the Real Enemy
Scripture: Mark 5:1–5

The man in this story isn’t just struggling—he’s consumed. Isolated. Tormented. Out of control. At first glance, it’s easy to think, “That’s not me.” But Scripture invites us to look deeper.

We may not live in tombs, but we all face things that try to take up residence in our hearts—bitterness, pride, unforgiveness, lust, anger. These aren’t just “bad habits.” Left unchecked, they become controlling forces.

Evil rarely shows up all at once. It moves in quietly, like a bad tenant—then invites more to follow.

Reflection:
What attitudes or patterns have I allowed to “move in” that don’t belong?

Prayer:
Jesus, help me see clearly what doesn’t belong in my heart. Give me honesty and courage to face it.

Day 2: The Danger of Letting It Stay
Scripture: Ephesians 4:26–27

“Do not give the devil a foothold.”

That’s the warning—and it’s practical. A foothold becomes a stronghold. What starts small grows over time.

Unforgiveness becomes resentment.
Resentment becomes bitterness.
Bitterness begins to shape everything.

Like your illustration—bad tenants don’t just stay quiet. They damage the house and bring others with them.

Ignoring it doesn’t fix it. Time doesn’t heal it. Only surrender does.

Reflection:
Is there something I’ve been excusing instead of confronting?

Prayer:
God, I don’t want to give anything space in my life that pushes You out. Show me what I need to deal with today.

Day 3: Running Toward Jesus
Scripture: Mark 5:6–8

One of the most powerful moments in this story is simple:
The man runs to Jesus.

Despite everything in him—and everything in him that wasn’t him anymore—he still runs.

That means something important for us:
No matter how far gone things feel, you are never too far to run to Jesus.

And just as important:
Nothing can stop Jesus from coming toward you either.

Freedom doesn’t start with fixing yourself. It starts with falling at His feet.

Reflection:
What’s stopping me from fully bringing my struggle to Jesus?

Prayer:
Jesus, I’m coming to You—not cleaned up, not fixed, just honest. Meet me here.

Day 4: Jesus Has All Authority
Scripture: Mark 5:9–13

When Jesus asks, “What is your name?” the answer is: “Legion… for we are many.”

That sounds overwhelming. Too much. Too far gone.

But then Jesus speaks—and everything changes.

No struggle is too complex.
No bondage is too strong.
No pattern is too deep.

Jesus doesn’t negotiate with darkness—He has authority over it.

Freedom isn’t about how strong you are.
It’s about who you bring your weakness to.

Reflection:
Do I truly believe Jesus has authority over this area of my life?

Prayer:
Jesus, I trust Your authority more than my struggle. Speak freedom into my life.

Day 5: Stay Free, Live Full
Scripture: Mark 5:18–20

After the man is set free, Jesus gives him a mission:
“Go home and tell how much the Lord has done for you.”

Freedom isn’t the finish line—it’s the starting point.

But there’s also a warning implied in your message:
If the house gets cleaned but not filled, the same things can come back.

So how do we stay free?
•Stay filled with the Holy Spirit
•Guard your heart
•Keep your life open to God, not old patterns
•Tell your story

Your testimony isn’t just about your past—it’s part of your protection for the future.

Reflection:
What does it look like for me to stay filled and not drift back?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, fill every space in me. Help me walk in freedom and share what You’ve done.
